Yesterday we pressed 16 quarts of cider. Today should be sunny and beautiful and I want to be outside. There's more tomato and apple picking to do but then I plan to wander around trying to capture the beauty with my camera.

I want to share the beauty! I have created a variety of floral products for my Zazzle stores, Bebop's Place and Bebop's Weddings, using my original photographs and designs. I am also constantly amazed at the gorgeous floral products available from the rest of the Zazzle community. I am hoping others will enjoy this blog and even be moved to purchase some of these lovely items for gifts or just for the pleasure of having such beauty around.

As the weather cools down, the food processing heats up around here. Yesterday I canned 7 quarts of tomato sauce and 11 pints of applesauce. Lot more tomatoes are in the wings. Today we plan to press our first batch of cider.

I've been watching a pair of hummingbirds who are hanging out in our garden. Yesterday I got a photo of the female as she was hovering over these red and yellow zinnias and made it into a poster for Bebop's Place.

Yesterday I spent some time at the pond, and, naturally, took some pictures while I was at it. Summer days are hot and sunny, but we can always find a cool, quiet corner of the pond for peace and contemplation. This poster I created for Bebop's Place is a study in shades of green and yellow in the surrounding woods, in the trees, goldenrod and shrubs on the bank and all the wonderful reflections in the water. Tall cattails dominate the foreground.

We have another cool morning here. Lots of produce to harvest in the garden and mushrooms to find in the woods. I found more yesterday and we had our second dinner with wild boletus mushrooms.

It's another cool morning. The sky is just showing some lovely color. Yesterday I struck gold in the woods! The boletus mushrooms have emerged. I picked a load and used some for dinner. The rest got dried in the dehydrator. I'll be heading back out to the woods again today. Here is a poster I made last night for Bebop's Place of my first mushrooms of the season.
